In 1936, Billy Butlin decided to site the world's first Butlins holiday centre in Ingoldmells due to its ideal  location.

Thanks to Butlins and the other attractions that grew up around it, Ingoldmells has been transformed into a haven for family fun. There is plenty to do for all, young and old, those with plenty of money and those with none, it costs nothing to walk along the promenade

Fantasy Island is Britain's first themed indoor family resort and amusements park. Fantasy Island is home to some of the UK's most exciting rollercoasters, including the Millennium Rollercoaster and The Odyssey, as well as the Absolutely Insane vertical thrill ride among others and entry is free. For the slightly less adventurous there are a number of other, more sedate rides and attractions at Fantasy Island, as well as a variety of food halls,restaurant and shopping.

Fantasy Island is also home to the famous Eastgate Market which is open seven days a week during high season for some fantastic bargains. The largest indoor and outdoor market in Europe.

After all the excitement, relax by enjoying a relaxing walk along Ingoldmells beautiful sandy beach, and is the home of the award-winning Ingoldmells donkeys, the same company have been providing donkey rides on the beach for generations. All the attractions you'd associate with a beach resort, such as ice-cream sales, doughnuts, burgers and much more can be found a short walk from the beach and in the surrounding area so there are snack foods and full meals available to suit all tastes.

All that but you are still able to get away from the holiday crowds along the 16 miles of beach.
